Before and After School Routines
Now that school is in again, here are some ways to keep the before and after school routines go smoothly. Don't forget anything and have a place for everything! No matter what your routines are, be consistent and keep it positive. You can always add and change it up as they grow and the routines shift.
This sign is great for "First Day" pics but also doubles for a morning before school checklist. Never forget the snack or water bottle, again! It's great for kids to use, themselves to start taking responsibility for remembering their own items for school! This independence is great for boosting their confidence and it prepares them for the independent responsibilities at school. It starts the day off on the right track and they know everything they need is packed!
Having a "school shelf" by the front door has been so important for our organization! We put everything school related on this shelf as well as some other leaving the house items for non school days, too! Here is what we keep on our school shelf:
AFTER SCHOOL WORK BASKET
For our family, it works best to unpack our backpacks right after school. They unpack their folders with any school work and we talk about it and then they put it in the "Work Basket" on top of our school shelf.
