LOTUS FLOWER POSE
Begin by sitting up nice and tall. Next, place one foot in your lap, then the other.
This is a nice pose to think about relax in and is a deep hip stretch. Some kids have no problem with this pose and others aren't able to do it until they've been practicing for a while. Remind the kids to listen to their body and only do the pose if it feels good.
Pretend you're a lotus flower on a lily pad in a muddy and murky swamp. Explain the lotus flower metaphor that even when life is yucky and murky all around us, we can still be a beautiful flower shining through filled with light and happiness.
