Benefits of Child's Pose
This is one of the best poses for yogis of all ages from the youngest, who it is named for to the oldest. This is a wonderful beginners pose that instantly stretches the spine and soothes the back muscles. It is especially good for the lower back. Child's pose increases blood, soothes the adrenals and can even help you get a better sleep. It is a relaxing pose that helps calm children (and adults) and can be especially beneficial for introspection or examining one's own mental and emotional process. When beginners are struggling with a new difficult pose, balance or muscle challenges, this pose is great for coming back to and reminding you why you are here.
Kid Connection for Child's Pose
Child's pose is great for imaginative yoga and can be used for so many things kids like to pretend about. We sometimes call it rock pose or seashell pose if we are doing a nature or beach imagination activity. Child's pose can feel so good and is a great pose to incorporate into the day as much and as often as possible.
